Industry experts to present focused briefings on AI, automation, and cybersecurity trends
MILWAUKEE – CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 will feature a high-energy Ground Breakers Stage session, “The Global Technology Trends Shaping the Construction Industry,” on Thursday, March 5, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. in West Hall 108 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Designed as a rapid-fire series of expert briefings rather than a traditional panel, the session will open with remarks from John Somers, Vice President, Construction & Utility Sector, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), and Matthew Abeles, Vice President, Construction Technology and Innovation, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). The two will set the stage with a big picture look at how technological adoption, investment and workforce dynamics are accelerating change across the construction ecosystem.
Following the opening discussion, each featured speaker will deliver a focused 15-minute presentation exploring a specific trend will influence how infrastructure and commercial projects are designed, built and managed. Topics will span artificial intelligence, robotics, in construction technology, workforce training innovations and cybersecurity considerations for connected jobsites.
