John Deere Power Systems Stage V-ready engines meet the recently implemented European Union (EU) Stage V emissions regulations. Leveraging new catalyst technologies, emissions control calibrations and next generation after-treatment solutions, John Deere PowerTech engines offer easier installation over previous engines.

John Deere Stage V-ready engines are optimized for increased torque response, low-speed torque and fluid efficiency, and provide responsive power at higher altitudes. The lineup of Stage V ready engines from John Deere includes engine displacements of 2.9L, 4.5L, 6.8L, 9.0L and 13.5L with ratings of 36 – 448 kW (48 – 600 hp).

OEMs (original-equipment manufacturers) will benefit from the continual product improvements and advancements made by retaining the same engine performance in a reduced package size. Reduced package sizes were achieved with next generation after-treatment solutions that provide up to a 39 percent reduction in size and 57 percent reduction in weight.

To achieve Stage V emissions levels for engines in the 19 kW to 560 kW power band, manufacturers will have to use Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology. John Deere Power Systems has experience with the development and integration of DPF technology in both John Deere and OEM equipment through Interim Tier 4/Stage III B and Final Tier 4/Stage IV implementation. OEMs new to the technology will be able to leverage the experience as they transition to Stage V.
