Augmented Reality Growth Not Virtual

3/3/2017

The development of AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) technology is changing the way people see and learn.

For example, someĀ AR applicationsĀ enable users to virtually try on glasses, clothes and many accessories. Wearable display glasses enable people to run applications.

The new Vuzix M300 represents the next generation of smart glasses. The VUzix M300 offers features such as improved ergonomics, modern security capabilities, enhanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and video streaming. These improvements are just some of the many that allow the smart glasses to be a central communications platform, connecting corporate data and Internet of Things field devices in realtime to the people who need them.

VMware Inc. announced the addition of new smart glasses management features to VMware AirWatch. This update will bring a consistent management platform to streamline on-boarding experiences, network setup and application deployment to organizations seeking to leverage augmented and mixed reality devices.

There currently are platforms that map 3D space, enabling it to be overlaid with virtual objects. While these are a few examples of the VR and AR technology that can be useful to contractors, there are many options available and the market will continue to grow and develop new solutions.
