For construction professionals, safety is critical. Companies are continuing to look for new ways to improve safety out at the jobsite. But for many, the solution might already be embedded in equipment.
For example, sensors in cranes can provide warning to operators and workers in case of emergency—and this technology continues to advance for the construction jobsite.
Case in point: Hirschmann MCS introduced the new CI55 inclination indicator. This monitors the inclination/tilt angler. The system was designed for use on any type of stationary, mobile, or marine application. This is useful with cranes or any construction equipment that can tilt.
While this is only one example, this type of indicator can give the operator the ability to preset user limits.
In this case, this piece of equipment, when approaching these set limits, the system provides an audible and visual warning. User limits can be set on the X, Y, or slope and each user limit will trigger either a warning or one of three cutoffs one for each digital output.
While this is just one example of a safety measure for the jobsite, there are many available for the industry. It is simply a matter of looking at the solutions available.
