11/28/2018

New, emerging technologies continue to proliferate the construction jobsite. From virtual reality, to project management, technologies are continuing to transform the industry.

The overwhelming adoption of mobile applications has changed the way construction professionals consume information.

In fact, Chandler Brooks, director of regional marketing, Procore, says construction companies are hungry to adopt new technology, adding that having the right tools like mobile devices and a supportive leadership team is key in effective adoption of the technology.

With apps, construction professionals can easily manage photos, documents, drawings, and requests for information at the jobsite.

A recent example of a new app comes from ConstructConnect, which created a mobile application to give construction professionals the ability to collaborate, connect, and communicate on-the-go.

It allows them to connect users to project stakeholders to share and view project leads, specs, and drawings across teams, while also enabling proactive alerts to changes in projects. Finally, it provides insights and analysis to workers.

A new mobile trend today is being able to lease customized iOS device bundles. Procore, for instance, offers a bundle that includes per-project monthly billing and leasing, device-as-a-service for secure deployment and management of iOS devices, and more.

While these are just a few example, mobile apps are changing the way construction workers interact with data at the jobsite.
