Are Your Materials Getting Smarter?

An increase in the adoption of energy-saving glass with new infrastructural and construction projects in the developed and developing regions is coming.

The Construction Glass Market Report, published by Allied Market Research, says this construction material is one that has evolved over time and is becoming one of the top ways to save energy in buildings. Contractors can incorporate this technology on projects to meet client’s needs.

Special glass constituted the highest marketshare in 2015. This is attributed to enhanced features of the glass such as protection from UV rays and noise pollution. Low-e glass is also estimated to grow.

The nonresidential construction segment accounted for the largest share in 2015, due to increase in construction activities of green buildings and various government regulations related to energy-efficient buildings. New buildings, educational institutes, and industrial buildings have started using solar control low-e glass also.

The special glass segment is projected to dominate the global construction glass industry throughout the period. As the market evolves, contractors will benefit from the advances in materials.
