Apps at the Jobsite

The use of apps at the construction jobsite is growing in popularity. Apps can help manage equipment, tools and even projects.

Two examples come from Corecon Technologies Inc., a provider of cloud-based construction estimating, project management and job cost software.

The company's Corecon Mobile app now has a new user interface and navigation functions, making it easier to view and to add construction project information from a smartphone or tablet device. For example, field staff can quickly enter daily logs, time cards and miscellaneous expenses. Alerts may also be viewed from the app’s home page.

Recent updates to the company's TeamLink Portal include a new user interface. In addition, information relating to new job opportunities and existing projects are organized so that outside individuals can have access to the information and navigate the Portal without any training.

The software suite uses cloud technologies to provide constant connectivity anywhere, anytime so firms can make quick, informed decisions whether using a notebook, tablet or smartphone.

This is one example of how apps are becoming a go-to tool on the jobsite for a construction management team to improve productivity.
