High-Tech Driving the Compact Loader Market

Share:

6/8/2018

Construction equipment continues to evolve. Such is the case with compact loaders—which have a number of new technological advances that are driving the market.

New research from Technavio shows that the adoption of advanced technology and telematics in compact loaders is expected to increase with the onset of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, advanced analytics, Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), virtual assistants, automated vehicles, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

The analyst firm suggests that the adoption of these technologies is increasing and the integration of such technologies in compact loaders will allow for safer machines.

A closer look at the technology shows that the IoT can be used to help manage machine hours, fuel consumption, idle time, and global positioning system (GPS) tracking. This will enable machine operators to schedule preventative maintenance, increase production parameters, and decrease the theft and misuse of equipment.

Construction is the industry that is the largest user of this type of equipment, and is expected to increase through 2022.

With a greater focus on building infrastructure projects such as bridges, dams, buildings, and roads expected, the use of this equipment will continue to grow as well. As new innovations emerge, workers will have new opportunities to manage projects more effectively in the future.
