There is a greater demand for intelligence on construction jobsites lately due to the need for more safety measures. Artificial intelligence (AI) can help.

Here’s a quick primer. AI in the construction market can be segmented into two different areas:

  • Machine learning and deep learning, which offers more robust methodology to tap into the area of context that involves human-computer interactions and provides close prediction based on historical data.
  • Natural language processing is an area that is focused on the interactions between computers and human languages, in particular how computers are programmed to process and analyze large amounts of natural language data.

A new report from MarketsandMarkets shows that construction companies in North America will have the largest adoption rate of this technology, while the cloud deployment type is expected to have the largest market share as well.

Some of the main reasons for choosing to deploy in the cloud is that it is easy to access and cost effective, according to the organization. Still, today, many construction companies are opting for on-premise-based AI solutions in construction.

With artificial intelligence in the construction industry, workers will be able to reduce operation and maintenance costs, eliminating complexities of projects. Construction companies will also be able to eliminate many time-consuming task, tapping into the intelligence that already exists on construction projects.
